Ludovico Einaudi and the late night are enough reasons to listen to classical music. I played piano from about the age of 5 to 11, and I played violin from about the age of 11 to 16. I derived very little pleasure from either of those activities; they were always something to get through rather than get to do. I was decent at both instruments, but practiced as little as possible and quit each instrument as soon as my parents let me.
I feel a little stupid. I wish I had opened my ears even once to the opportunity I had to really learn music. Now, as with a million other things, there’s no time.
I think it’s one of those things where maybe someday, there will be time. For now, the mind is tired. For now, there’s Ludivico Einaudi’s “Nuvole Bianche,” which is as beautiful a song as you’ll ever hear, on any blog.
Actually, first I’m going to put up a really chill remix of “Nuvole Bianche.” It’s a track that seems really soothing, but for some reason makes me feel restless, like the waves are coming, but they never break upon the shore.
Here’s the original.
And here is one of my favorite videos ever. This is where I first heard Ludovico Einaudi. If you want to step outside this hectic world for a few short minutes, turn up your sound, hit play, hit full screen, sit back, and watch.
